Q). Where can I find aluminum column plinths that are sized to fit my columns?
A). We Suggest Lawler Manufacturing. (Lawler carries all sizes to match our columns)
Q). Can I install a receptacle box in my column?
A). Yes, as long as only one face is used for the cutout.
Q). Can I chamfer the corners of my columns?
A). Yes, up to 1-1/2” chamfer per corner is permissible.
Q). Can I notch the columns to receive headers or joists?
A). Yes, you can use Prime Columns as you would a solid sawn timber.
Q). Since the wood is pressure/ salt treated, should I leave it exposed for a period of time to acclimate?
A). Absolutely not. These columns are produced using kiln dried (KDAT) lumber. They are required to be sealed prior to installing, and the interior walls are required to be kept completely dry in service.
